Classic Backgammon
Classic Backgammon brings the traditional board game to your browser: fifteen checkers each, twenty-four points and two dice that decide how far you travel. Bring all of your checkers home and bear them off before your opponent does. Play the computer, or hand the device over for a two-player match on one screen.
How to Play Classic Backgammon
- Choose a mode: On the SELECT MODE screen pick a match against the AI, or two players taking turns on one device.
- Roll and move: Tap the dice button, then a checker and the point it should reach. Each die is a separate move: a 4 and a 2 give two moves.
- Hit and re-enter: Land on a point holding one enemy checker and it goes to the bar; that checker must re-enter before any other move.
- Play your doubles: When both dice match, the game announces GOT A DOUBLE, DICES REDOUBLED and you play four moves, not two.
- Respect the rules: A move that stops you playing both dice, or the higher one, is refused. With nothing playable, NO MOVES AVAILABLE passes the turn.
Features of Classic Backgammon
- Two modes: Single player against the computer, or two players on one device.
- AI opponent: The computer shows THINKING while it works out its reply.
- Built-in rule checking: Self-blocking moves are refused with a clear message, so you learn the real rules.
- End-screen score: Each checker your opponent leaves on the board is worth 100 points on the SCORE line.
- Made for any screen: Full-screen button, sound on and off, no download or login.
